Harvest Hut

The Harvest Hut makes for the perfect quiet escape with a bit of back-to-basics adventure.

Once used by farm workers as humble accommodation, this forgotten hut was in desperate need of some love and attention. With a little vision to awaken its charms, our Harvest Hut has been sensitively restored and is now a proud haven for those in search of a carefree and relaxing break. With one double bed and one single, the Hut sleeps three, and is proudly off-grid as it would have been throughout its working life. Kick back by the wood burning stove amidst colourful furnishings, and escape the world of smart phones and digital devices for a true break from modern life.

The Hut has a two-burner hob for all your cooking requirements, from morning porridge to a hearty supper. We provide all the utensils you’ll need as well as beautiful crockery to serve it on. Meals always taste so much better outside, so a table and chairs are available to dine al fresco. A colourful and tuneful singing kettle is provided for heating water.

Water and Electricity

Harvest Hut is completely off-grid, perfect for those seeking to return to a slower, more relaxed pace of life. There is a cosy wood burning stove for when you want to stay warm, solar powered lighting, and bottled water for all your washing requirements.

The toilet

Just next door to the Hut is a private composting loo. Originating from a discarded cable reel, it is simple, rustic and sufficient.

The Shower Room

The shower is a 300m stroll away through a grassy field – close enough for convenience but far enough away that you feel the freedom of the farm.

Entertainment

The tranquillity and beautiful scenery are enough for some. For others, we recommend you bring books (and head torches), a kite, a Frisbee, guitar, board games, a camera, binoculars and walking boots – to explore the deserted beaches and hidden coves nearby.

Testimonials

An absolute hi dinging belter of a sanctuary. A Hogmanay to cherish doused in primitiveness, a dancing northern sky, a ceiling of stars and candlelight. Many many thanks and many more thanks too.
